Offshore software development for European companies

A product team in India that covers the European morning, builds to GDPR and the EU AI Act, and invoices in euros with the reverse charge.

  • EUR, reverse-charge VAT
  • DPA, SCCs, IP assignment, NDA
  • Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Paris, Dublin

European companies care about three things when they look outside the EU for engineering: that the data stays where the law says it must, that the working day overlaps enough to feel like one team, and that the contract will survive a review by counsel in Berlin, Amsterdam or Paris. We built our European practice around those three.

Our day runs from 5am to 2pm Central European Time in winter and 6am to 3pm in summer, so your whole morning is shared time. Data lives in EU regions in your own cloud account. Contracts come with a data processing agreement, standard contractual clauses and IP assignment. We work in English with teams in Germany, the Netherlands, France, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Belgium, Austria, Portugal and the Nordics.

Working hours against European time

Our 9:30am–6:30pm day covers the whole European morning.

Central Europe (CET): Germany, Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Austria, Belgium, Nordics
5am–2pm (6am–3pm in summer) · calls 9am–2pm
Western Europe (WET): Ireland, Portugal
4am–1pm (5am–2pm in summer) · calls 9am–1pm
Eastern Europe (EET): Finland, Greece, Romania, the Baltics
6am–3pm (7am–4pm in summer) · calls 9am–3pm

Standard time shown; in summer our day lands an hour later on your clock, so the shared window grows by an hour.

What a European engagement includes

  • GDPR by design: a data processing agreement, standard contractual clauses for any transfer, EU hosting regions, data minimisation and the records a DPO will ask for.
  • EU AI Act awareness for AI products: risk classification, documentation, transparency obligations and human oversight built into the design rather than added before an audit.
  • EUR invoicing with the reverse charge: no VAT charged by us; a VAT-registered EU business self-accounts for services from outside the EU, and we include the wording your accountant needs.
  • Contracts your counsel will accept: a services agreement with IP assignment, your NDA or our mutual template, and clear liability and termination terms.
  • Your tools and your accounts: GitHub or GitLab, Jira or Linear, Slack or Teams, AWS Frankfurt, Azure West Europe, GCP Belgium or a European provider you prefer.

What we build for European clients

B2B SaaS platforms for German and Dutch scale-ups, mobile apps for consumer brands and health companies, e-commerce for retailers across the single market, and AI products that have to meet the AI Act. Accessibility to the European Accessibility Act and WCAG is part of the build for consumer-facing products. Multilingual interfaces are normal rather than an extra.

Engagements are fixed-scope projects after a discovery sprint or dedicated engineers who join your team monthly. Either way the code sits in your repository, deploys to your EU cloud, and comes with documentation and infrastructure as code at handover.

Questions European clients ask

No, so transfers rely on standard contractual clauses and a transfer impact assessment. In practice we design engagements so that production personal data stays in your EU environment and our engineers work against anonymised or test data.

Our working language is English, which is the working language of most European engineering teams. We localise products into any language with native reviewers.

In EU regions in your own cloud account, or with a European provider if you prefer. We hold no production data.

It depends on the use case and its risk class. We map that in discovery and build the documentation, transparency and oversight the classification requires.

EUR invoices by SEPA transfer or card, monthly for dedicated teams and by milestone for projects.
